City of Sammamish - COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information & Resources
Curb ramp retrofits and sidewalk repairs are a critical component of maintaining our current roadway network. Per the ADA laws that went into effect in 2009, all street crossings with an overlay that crosses an intersection must improve all curb ramps to meet the current standards specified in the Americans with Disabilities Act. This project is designed to update all crossings on 228th Avenue between SE 8th St and NE 8th St before we overlay in 2022. This project also incorporates repairing every catch basin within the corridor in order to avoid emergency repairs after the new pavement layer is placed. The City opened bids on March 4, 2021. Eight contractors submitted bids and the lowest, responsible bidder is Axum General Construction, Inc.
A construction schedule will be posted after the project has been awarded.
Note: The work dates listed are subject to change due to weather, equipment and occasional other scheduling conflicts.
