Development Moratorium

The citywide development moratorium in effect from the time of city incorporation (August 1999) until it was superceded on August 15, 2005 by a Growth Phasing plan, and associated Development Allocation.

Currently, a limited scope and limited duration Town Center Moratorium is still in effect. This new moratorium is for the filing of applications for development permits and approvals around the around the Sammamish Town Center Study Area. The current moratorium was established by City Council to promote orderly land development of the Sammamish Town Center consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.
