The 244th Avenue SE Non-Motorized Project proposes to construct 2,600-feet of sidewalk, bike lane, and planter strip on the east side of the road. Retaining walls, safety fencing, and storm drain improvements will also be included to accomodate the design. See the proposed typical cross section below:
*Paving is planned for Friday, February 21st. This will include full-depth pavement for bike lanes and pothole areas, and will temporarily affect driveway access off 244th Ave SE. Residents may find a brief period in the day where access is temporarily restricted (15-20 minutes) while the crews roll fresh asphalt at each driveway.
Goals and Benefits
Will provide facilities for pedestrians and bicyclists on 244th Avenue SE adjacent Beaver Lake Park, from SE 32nd Street to SE 24th Street.
