Summary
Welcome to the Sammamish Town Center webpage! Since 2006, our community has been
in the process of crafting a plan for our Town Center, located in the geographic
heart of the city. The City Council adopted a Vision Statement for the Town Center
on Mar. 7, 2006 and also adopted a preferred alternative on April 17, 2007. These
policy decisions by the City Council have guided the planning process to date and
were informed by a draft environmental impact statement (Draft EIS), market study,
design charettes and bus tours and most importantly by the input from Sammamish
residents.
Our challenge now is to develop a plan to implement the adopted vision and preferred
alternative. In October, 2007 the city released a Draft Town Center Plan and Final
EIS that responded to the comments we received on the DEIS. The Planning Commission
is now undertaking its review and listening to public testimony.
The Sammamish Town Center is roughly bounded on the north by East Main Street, on
south by SE 8th Street, on the east by 233rd Avenue and on the west by 222nd Street.
The area also includes the 30-acre Sammamish Commons project, the City Hall, youth
skate park and 20-acre open space and play area with trails and picnic facilities.
We appreciate your taking the time to visit our webpage and we invite you to participate
in the Town Center planning process. For more information, please contact
