On March 6th the Planning Commission completed their deliberation on the city's
2008 proposed Comprehensive Plan amendments. Their recommendation, described in
the below attachments includes: the designations of current and future Potential
Annexation Areas (PAA’s) and associated contingent land use and zoning, as well
as a land use and zoning designation change for the Kaschko property docket request.
The City Council is scheduled to deliberate and adopt the proposed amendments on
April 21, 2008. Public comment may be made at the City Council hearing scheduled
for April 15th, 2008. Written comments on the proposed comprehensive plan amendments

Notice is hereby given under RCW 36.70A.106 that the city of Sammamish adopted the
Sammamish Comprehensive Plan on September 16, 2003.
2008 Draft Comprehensive Plan Amendments
Description of Proposal
The Comprehensive Plan, adopted under
Ordinance 02003-130, provides guidance for the future development of the
city of Sammamish within the next 20 years. Specifically the document addresses
the Washington State Growth Management Act, GMA requirements including the following
elements:
- Land use
- Housing
- Utilities/public services/capital facilities
- Essential public facilities
- Transportation
- Parks and recreation
Additional Plan Elements address growth management, and environment and conservation.
Location of Proposal
The Sammamish Comprehensive Plan addresses property within the city limits as well
as surrounding Urban Growth Boundaries and city-owned property immediately abutting
the city limits.
SEPA Compliance
The FSEIS to the East Sammamish Community Plan Update Environmental
Impact Statement prepared by King County in 1992/1993 was issued on September 5,
2003 by the city of Sammamish.
Ordinance / Comprehensive Summary
The city has prepared a plan in accordance with the planning goals contained in
the GMA and the King County Countywide planning policies. The plan is based on a
Vision Statement adopted by the City Council, which
emphasizes the city as a community of families. The Plan contains this
Vision Statement, required and non required GMA Elements as listed above,
goals and policies for each topical area and a comprehensive land use designation
map (see Element III, Land Use p.27)
