Skyline High School was closed Thursday after police and Issaquah School District officials received word of an online threat late Wednesday. The school was scheduled to reopen Friday on a late-start schedule.

The anonymous online post indicated that someone was planning to shoot a gun at the school. The post included a photo of a a submachine gun. At an afternoon news conference Thursday, King County Sheriff Steve Strachan indicated law enforcement officials were putting a lot of resources behind the investigation. They also said this online post is similar to an April threat directed at Meadowvale High School in Lynnwood.

Anyone who believes they may have information regarding the source of these threats is asked to call the King County Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311.
