NOTICE TO BIDDERS: Your firm is invited to bid on the City of Sammamish Parks project. Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received at the office of the City Clerk located at Sammamish City Hall at 801 228th Avenue SE, Sammamish, Washington 98075 Prior to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012, for the Sammamish Landing Phase I C – Dock & Beach Improvements. Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud immediately at the deadline listed above. Any proposals received after the above stated time of opening will not be considered. It is the sole responsibility of the Bidders to deliver bid to the designated place at the designated time. Oral, telephonic, faxed or telegraphic bids are invalid and will not receive consideration.
PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A pre-bid conference will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the project site, Sammamish Landing. Site address is 4607 East Lake Sammamish Parkway NE, Sammamish, WA 98074. Street parking is available further north on 187th Avenue NE; a pedestrian underpass leads to the East Lake Sammamish Trail. No other such opportunities are anticipated or planned.
This project includes, but is not limited to, erosion control, site preparation, demolition of existing docks, removal of existing vegetation, earthwork, steel piling, fabrication and construction of two new docks, aluminum gangways, concrete abutments, gravel surfacing, logs and boulders at pocket beaches, entrance sign, mitigation work and site restoration for the Sammamish Landing Phase I C – Dock & Beach Improvements.
PRE-BID QUESTIONS: All pre-bid questions and clarifications should be made in writing to Anjali Myer, Parks Project Manager at amyer@ci.sammamish.wa.us no later than 4 working days prior to bid opening. Address the email “PREBID QUESTION”. Answers to questions will be presented to all recipients of bid packages no later than 24 hours before bids are due.
BID BOND: All proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount of such proposal. The check shall be made payable to the City of Sammamish. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory Performance Bond within the time stated in the specifications, the proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Sammamish. The estimated Construction Cost for the project is approximately 425,000 dollars.
REJECTION OF BID: The City of Sammamish reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive irregularities in the bid or in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his proposal after the hour set for the opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period of exceeding sixty (60) days.
TIME OF COMPLETION: The successful bidder will be required to fully complete all work in all respects within 110 calendar days from the date written in the notice to proceed. In water work shall be fully complete no later than the allowable in-water work window (per the Hydraulic Permit Approval) end date of December 31, 2012. Notice to Proceed (NTP) is anticipated to be issued after City Council review scheduled for Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
