Earlier this year, under the guidance of the Dukakis Center staff at Boston's Northeastern University, the city employed that school's Economic Development Self-Assessment Tool (EDSAT). The EDSAT was developed to help cities benchmark their strengths and weaknesses as they relate to attracting business.
A brief results presentation is scheduled for the City Council meeting on Monday, June 18. The City Council's Economic Development Committee is scheduled to further review and discuss the EDSAT at 9 a.m. on June 19 and then recommend next steps.
